Every change requires leaving something behind. And if this something was important and significant, then it will be very difficult to leave it. Stage 1 of the movement towards change is the awareness of the feelings pushing towards them. Feelings give rise to thoughts, and they, in turn, influence behavior. Basically this is a feeling of dissatisfaction, but there may be others, depending on the context. Stage 2 - decision making. If you need to leave something not particularly significant behind, then the decision is relatively easy. But if something that is valuable, if a lot of resources are spent on it (time, attention, money, etc.), then... resistance arises inside. It's like a lice check. In this place, a lot of thinking arises, bargaining with ourselves and the world, the desire to eat fish and give up bones. But the change is just that, a change, that you have to give up something familiar in order to receive something new. And that’s when you already understand that you can’t get away with it, you think about what you are ready to lose and how you will live without it, stage 3 begins. What was, occupied a certain place inside you and when you give it away, in that place an emptiness or even a wound is formed that aches or it hurts. And the new has not yet taken root, has not yet bloomed, it needs time to take root in you. This transition increases the anxiety that was there even before the decision was made. Doubts about the correctness of the decision may creep into your soul. It is normal to feel sadness or even grief over what you had to give up or let go...Support is especially important during this period. A person becomes hypersensitive and even, perhaps, capricious. It is worth directing thoughts in the direction of self-care, and not expecting results from yourself. Do almost nothing. In other words, withstand this anxiety as a symbol of transition to a new stage and accumulate strength for new actions. At such moments, it is important to have your list of anti-anxiety actions at hand. For example, I write, this helps me express feelings and systematize thoughts. So I feel that I somehow control and understand myself. I am looking for communication with supportive people in whom I am confident. I delve deeper into my studies, so I feel that time is passing profitably and I enjoy it. I set easy mini goals for myself, listen to what my body tells me. What ways do you have to overcome natural anxiety? Let's enrich our lists.
